ABOUT MY WORK

Distress presents in many guises: It’s not something, for instance, that people readily acknowledge in the workplace. If you’ve been advised to promote your own resilience, or that of your team, the therapeutic space is a highly appropriate place to bring your concerns and dilemmas. You may be in a leadership role or working towards it, and be in need of a perspective on your professional and personal experience to date.

I take a particular interest in the life stages which adults pass through. As we approach each stage, growth and development brings its own challenges.

We are constantly making an ending in one sense and a beginning in another. Loss and regret, if reflectively treated, can be the precursor to an enhanced enjoyment of life and relationships.

At this point, my youngest clients are in their twenties, the oldest in their eighties.

Although age is just a number, it also marks the stages of life through which we develop. I find this concept more helpful than, for instance, work or retirement age, which is an increasingly flexible demarcation.

If you are feeling depressed or anxious, it can be hard to ask for help.

However, people usually find that psychotherapy becomes a helpful regular appointment in their lives. Each session provides space for you to address what is troubling or preoccupying you; over time, you can expect to gain increased insight.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to have a chat about your concerns and how psychotherapy can help.
